The new 2014 Audi SQ5 will get from 0-62 mph in 5.3 seconds, and top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph. While Audi Q5 3.0T takes 6.0 seconds to reach 60 mph, and was limited to 130 mph. Audi claims a combined fuel economy of 21 mpg, the same as the EPA combined estimate for the standard Q5 3.0T. The new 2014 Audi SQ5 new to ZF-sourced eight-speed torque-converter automatic transmission and power is transmitted to all four wheels. The suspension is lowered by 1.2 inches and comes with springs and firmer shock absorbers. 20-inch wheels fitted with 255/45 tires-an option on the Q5 3.0T-are standard on the SQ5, while 21-inch wheels on 40 series rubber are offered as an option and are exclusive to the S model. If the European-market diesel-powered SQ5 is anything to go by, roadholding grip should be spectacular. Audi has redesigned the grill of SQ5, Audi SQ5 features glossy grill with dual horizontal bars, like the Audi S models, the new 2014 Audi SQ5 badges on the front brake calipers; the trademark aluminum-look mirror caps; and there are two exclusive colors, Panther Black and Estoril Blue. Audi's Estoril Blue is a glossy, dark shade with a hint of violet, much richer than BMW's lighter, vintage-looking Estoril Blue.
The new 2014 Audi SQ5 also comes with a performance-tuned suspension, standard 20-inch and optional 21-inch wheels, an optional dynamic steering system, xenon headlights, leather upholstery and faux-suede trim and signature S elements throughout the cabin. A navigation system with the latest MMI system is optional, as is the Bluetooth-tethered Wi-Fi connection. Folding the rear seats yields 57 cubic feet of cargo space, roommates is a little below average for this segment. The new 2014 Audi SQ5 is powered by a free-revving, supercharged, three-liter V6 engine with a displacement of 2.995 cc. Its compressor sits in the 90-degree V of the cylinder banks and is belt-driven by the crankshaft. Two inside the supercharger rotors spin at over 20,000 rpm. The air gap between them is just a few thousandths of a millimeter. The supercharger compresses the intake air to as much as 0.8 bar; two intercoolers then cool it for greater power.
